John Lloyd Davies has taken part in over a hundred pre- and post-performance talks on opera and theatre and spoken at many conferences. He chaired the discussion on contemporary opera at the European Opera Conference at the Royal Opera House and has recently lectured on opera translation at the British Library. 


Lecturing and educational work includes: 



International Translation Day Conference 2014, British Library - lectured on Singing the Meaning, opera and translation.

Royal Opera House - lectured on Szymanowski's Król Roger, dramaturgy and production history. 

VOX - composing for voice. Composing course at the Royal Opera House. Founded, directed and tutored courses 2007-2012.

The Singing Word - the UK's first course for opera librettists. Founded, directed and tutored courses 2009-2012.
